Over the years, as practice staff create data, databases often accumulate thousands of unused items.
The Appointments Tidy Script has been developed to archive reference data that is no longer in use.
Common examples of redundant session names include duplicates such as AM Surgery, Morning Surgery, am surgery, Dr. Jones AM Surgery, Dr. Smith AM Surgery, Locum AM, and locum morning. For some practices, this buildup can impact system performance and clutter the Appointments Setup views, making them less efficient to navigate.
The Tidy Script is designed to archive both inactive and active reference data items that have not been used within the past 13 months. The reference data items addressed by the script include:
- Slot Types
- Sessions
- Weekly Plans
It’s important to emphasise that all patient appointment data and audit trails remain fully intact.
The Tidy Script has been completed for the majority of practices, following engagement with all Health Boards. For practices that still require this service, the Service Desk is available to run the script as needed.
If you have any questions, please contact your Health Board or the Service Desk.
