** UPDATED ** Gemscript – dm+d changes
We have been made aware of a number of changes applied to the NHS Dictionary of Medicines and Devices (dm+d) by the NHS Business Services Authority. These are that the Virtual Medicinal Product identifier (VPID) SNOMED code has been changed for 28 Virtual Medicinal Products (VMPs) in the dm+d, as follows.

These VPID changes will be included within the next available (August) Gemscript release being deployed during August 2020. We will get this Gemscript release to you as soon as we are able. Following receipt of the August 2020 Gemscript release, any newly initiated or newly re-authorised repeat prescriptions containing any of the above items will use the new VPIDs. In the short term, Vision users may receive queries from pharmacies regarding existing active repeat prescriptions that include any of these products, as the old VPID codes will be used until the repeat set is finished and re-authorisation takes place.
