Influenza Campaign 2020-2021

Helping you Through Flu Season in 3 Simple Stages

Flu season is here and we know this can be an extremely busy time for GP practices, particularly during this unprecedented time.

We understand the new challenges and concerns you face with this year's upcoming flu season, which is why we want to ensure we can support you throughout this time as much as possible.

To do this, we are pleased to launch a Seasonal Influenza Campaign Help Centre; an evolving one stop area where you will be able to access all the information you need to carry out an effective and efficient flu campaign. On here, you will find guidance on how to use the various solutions and help you carry out your campaign split into 3 simple stages:

Phase 1 - Identifying your patients
To get you started on your campaign and assist you in identifying eligible patients for the flu vaccination, we have now uploaded the Immunisation and Health Protection Influenza clinical audits to our Seasonal Influenza Campaign Help Centre, where you can access these anytime.

We are also currently in the process of creating a suite of Vision+ Reports, the reports are based on guidance provided by Health Protection Scotland (HPS) and Primis, and will be available for you to download via the new Seasonal Influenza Campaign Help Centre soon.

Phase 2 - Engaging your patients: sending your invitations
To help you communicate effectively with your identified eligible patients and invite them to your practice or hub for their flu vaccination, there are three forms of communication for you to choose from: letter, SMS text or via a Barcode invite.

To help you send out your preferred choice of invitation, you can access a number of helpful guides within our Seasonal Influenza Campaign Help Centre. These will assist you in providing fast, effective patient communication and ultimately save your practice time.

Phase 3 - Delivering and recording your patients' flu vaccinations
This phase includes:  delivering your vaccinations, collating patient data and using Smart Clinic to establish your patient groups. We will be in touch with further details over the coming weeks to advise you on how we can assist.

In the meantime, please visit the new Seasonal Influenza Campaign Help Centre for all the information you need to carry out your flu campaign - this will be continuously evolving to ensure you are provided with the informative guidance and support you need.
