Recording Where a Patient has No Known Allergies (NKA) in Vision

Cegedim Healthcare Solutions has been made aware that there are a significant number of Vision patient records with both patient allergies recorded and a coded entry for ‘No known allergies’ present (Read code 1151.00). The presence of such seemingly contradictory clinical information relating to allergies in a patient’s record may cause confusion and have implications for their care / treatment, including the potential for patient harm to occur. Cegedim Healthcare Solutions would therefore like to request that Vision users are mindful when adding a coded entry to denote that a patient has no known allergies, in particular where a patient has one or more allergies recorded in their record.
