Cegedim Healthcare Solutions has been made aware that a number of competitor suppliers are removing the QRISK®2 clinical risk calculator where integrated with their clinical systems. QRISK®2 operates only on Read codes and is currently provided as an integrated calculator within Vision+ to users across GP practices in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland where the Vision GP clinical system is deployed. QRISK®3 is currently published using only SNOMED CT terminology and is therefore available in England only.
Both the QRISK®2 and QRISK®3 calculators are covered by Cegedim Healthcare Solutions’ registration of Vision+ as a medical device with the MHRA.
We have recently received a number of queries in relation to whether we plan to also withdraw the QRISK®2 clinical risk calculator from use by removing it from Vision+ or if this will continue to be included within the Vision+ application.
At the present time, Cegedim Healthcare Solutions is in discussion with ClinRisk Ltd, the supplier of the QRISK®2 and QRISK®3 algorithms, to establish the best and safest way to proceed regarding continuing to making a suitable version of the QRISK calculator available to our users.
We will provide a further update soon once these discussions have concluded and we are able to take an informed decision as to how to best move forward with this. In the meantime, please continue to use the QRISK®2 calculator integrated within Vision+ to estimate patient risk of cardiovascular disease.
