We are pleased to announce we have a new ORBIT Calculator available now to Vision+ users and will be coming soon to Vision Anywhere. We are pleased to be the first and only GP supplier to offer this solution.
The ORBIT calculator is used to assess the risk of bleeding in patients who have Atrial Fibrillation (AF). Atrial Fibrillation is a condition that causes an irregular heartbeat, and increases the risk of stroke.
To reduce the risk of stroke, patients are often prescribed anticoagulation medication, however this increases the risk of serious bleeding so a risk/benefit analysis between the risk of stroke and the risk of bleeding is required.
It was previously recommended to use the HAS-BLED risk score to assess the risk of bleeding but in April 2021 NICE published updated guidelines, which recommended using ORBIT instead of HAS-BLED.
Our new ORBIT calculator makes your job easier by removing the need transfer patient information into a web based calculator saving you time, and reducing the risk of error.
To access the new ORBIT calculator you can download this now from your download web file screen. For support on downloads click here.
We are on a continuous journey, delivering new tools and extra functionality to our customers, and are currently working on a number of calculators which we will share with you over the coming weeks, so that you can continue to work smarter, not harder.
