NEW GAD-7 Calculator now available
We are pleased to announce we have a new GAD-7 Calculator available now to Vision+ users and will be available to download for Vision Anywhere soon
Generalised anxiety disorder (GAD) is one of the most common mental disorders; however, there is no brief clinical measure for assessing GAD. The calculator has been developed to create a brief self-report scale to identify probable cases of GAD and evaluate its reliability and validity.
The GAD-7 is a mental health evaluation model aimed at anxiety severity. It takes the form of a questionnaire that is administered to patients in the clinical environment.
The patient is prompted to consider their behaviour in the past two weeks, by taking into account the following:
1. Feeling nervous, anxious or on edge;
2. Not being able to stop or control worrying;
3. Worrying too much about different things;
4. Trouble relaxing;
5. Being so restless that it is hard to sit still;
6. Becoming easily annoyed or irritable;
7. Feeling afraid as if something awful might happen.
Each of the 7 criteria is accompanied by a scale describing the frequency of the anxious sign, as exhibited in the 2 weeks prior to the evaluation.
The result provided by the GAD-7 calculator is aimed at revealing whether an anxiety disorder is present and to what degree.
