Wales Only - Vision Mail Manager and Pooled GP Lists
The purpose of this communication is to remind GP practices across NHS Wales of the need to ensure that 'Usual GP' is allocated to an individual GP when (re)registering a patient subsequent to the requirement for pooled list arrangements coming into force in Wales during 2019/20. The following is a step-by step description of the patient registration scenario that describes what actions are required in order for this to successfully happen to prevent the risk associated with this not being the case:
- When (re)registering a patient and a pooled list GP is selected as their 'Registered GP', 'Usual GP' is automatically assigned to the pooled list GP.
- Where 'Usual GP' remains as the pooled list GP, there is a risk that some incoming messages may be sent to a pooled list GP's mailbox in Vision Mail Manager and a delay to these being read / actioned.
- To prevent this risk from manifesting, as part of the registration process, the patient's 'Usual GP' should be changed from the pooled list GP to an individual GP.

There is a Vision utility available for use to perform a bulk update of this information, access the utility from the Registration toolbar: Transfer – Partnership Reallocation - Usual GP.
